Q: Are completely new dancers welcome?
A: Yes, we are open to completely new dancers across a wide age range.
Q: Is there a minimum/maximum age?
A: Yes, our minimum age is 4, our maximum 18. Silver Swans is open to over 55’s.
Q: Are your classes inclusive?
A: Yes, students of any gender, ethnicity and orientation are welcome at FFD.
Q: What are the class times & dates?
A: Term dates & class times are viewable on the Parent Portal.
Q: What is the Parent Portal?
A: The Parent Portal is a fast and easy way to access class information, time tables, manage contact details and pay tuition fees. it can be found at the bottom of our home page or by clicking here.
Q: How do I join FFD classes?
A: Class applications can be found here. Spaces are limited and subject to availability.
Q: Can I have a free trial?
A: Yes, we offer trial spaces, these spaces are limited and subject to availability. Trials can be booked when signing up to classes, where available.
Q: Can I stay and watch my child at class?
A: If your child is new or nervous you are welcome to stay until your child settles.
Q: Do you put on shows or performances?
A: Yes, every year we work towards a final performance. Showcasing every class, age group and style of dance.
Q: Do you do exams?
A: No, we don’t perform any examinations of our students performance. FFD follows student progression through informal grading, supporting that dance is maintained as a creative art and as such, we drive to inspire personal progression through ongoing class assessment.
Q: What should be brought to class?
A: Students should be in uniform/costume (where appropriate). We would always advise bringing a water bottle and a healthy snack. Hydration is extremely important, especially when learning & exercising.
Q: What should be worn as a new student?
A: Anything comfortable while getting started, we do have a uniform which was ask students transition to.
Q: What is the uniform and where can I get it?
A: Our uniform requirements can be found on the Parent Portal. Uniform can be purchased from our shop.
